Whether you’re headed there for a weekend trip or a longer holiday, there’s nothing quite like Paris in the summer.
Visiting the City of Light during summer is one of the best times to sightsee and boasts great weather throughout the summer months.
If you’re wondering how to spend your days in Paris in the summer, our guide is here to help.
When visiting Paris in the summer, you should:
- Visit Sacré-Cœur
- Cool down with an ice cream at Place de la Concorde
- Book a private tour
- Go on a River Seine dinner cruise
- Visit Disneyland Paris
1. Visit Sacré-Cœur
You can’t visit Paris without a trip to the beautiful church of Sacré-Cœur, which stands atop the Butte Montmartre.
Known for its stunning architecture, the climb to the top is well worth it for the panoramic views of the entire city of Paris.
In terms of opening times, The Basilica ‘is open every day from 6.30 am to 10.30 pm and entrance is free’.
That said, you’ll want to ensure that you’re wearing comfortable and breathable shoes and make sure you visit before the midday sun is beating down on you, as Paris gets extremely hot in the summer.
2. Cool Down With An Ice Cream At Place De La Concorde
If you’re looking for a relaxed activity in Paris on a hot day, why not tick off the Place de la Concorde whilst cooling down with an ice cream in the sun?
Once known as the Place de la Revolution, the Place de la Concorde became the site for public executions of the King and Queen of France during the French Revolution and is now a famous sightseeing spot.
Renamed Place de la Concorde, it is one of Paris’ main public squares, with statues and monumental fountains as the focal point.
So whether you’re a fan of the history, or simply want to enjoy the sights, Place de la Concorde is a great place to spend a relaxed afternoon!
3. Book A Private Tour
If you’re not sure what to see in Paris, there’s no better way to explore than by booking a private tour.
A private tour offers the perfect opportunity to hit multiple of your sightseeing spots in the city in one go whilst allowing you to absorb interesting facts and information about Paris that you likely wouldn’t otherwise learn.

There’s nothing like finding new ways to see a city, and Paris via boat is a sight to behold.
If you’re looking for something special to do for a date night or even a celebration, why not enjoy a 3 course meal on a River Seine dinner cruise?
A dinner cruise is the perfect way to relax and unwind after a busy day of sightseeing and allows you to experience an evening of delicious food whilst enjoying the most iconic sights of Paris illuminated at night.
There are lots of River Seine dinner cruises to choose from depending on your budget, but generally speaking, prices start at around the £52 mark according to Tripadvisor.
That said, considering it’s truly a once in a lifetime experience, it’s worth every penny.
5. Visit Disneyland Paris
If you’re a fan of Disney, then you won’t want to miss out on Disneyland Paris.
Based just over 43km from Paris, visiting the park this summer will be extra special, as it’s the 30th anniversary of Disneyland Paris.
Disneyland Paris is throwing a range of different events around their 30th anniversary that last all the way up to the 30th of September. From new attractions to jaw-dropping shows, there’s something for everyone.
So whether you’re a couple, a group of friends, or a family, Disneyland Paris is one of the most magical experiences for people of all ages.
